The Hoverboard is a project made by Nils guadagnin, a young french artist. It is a copy of the hoverboard from the movie Back to the Future II. Integrated into the board and the plinth is an electromagnetic system which levitates the board. A laser system stabilises the object in the air.

If you read the description you’d realize it’s not a viable solution for a recreational hover board because part of the electromagnetic field is being created from beneath the platform.
It’s not really important though, this is a brilliant and fun exhibit, I wish I could have seen it.

That’s a fairly clever demonstration. The attachment that many have with the original incarnation from Back To the Future 2, will bring this artist and his project quite a bit of acclaim.
I love how when making those movies they just assumed that the cheesy color schemes and graphics of the ’80s would still be popular in 25 years.

if it was to be an exact replica of the hover board from back to the future, it would have contain famous details of the original such as the Mattel logo, type and more… why leave those out?

Not an exact replica at all. An inspired replica maybe. The original was Mattel branded, had the words “Hover Board” on it and had the pattern on both the top and bottom.

Oula, ca craint: aucun interet ce truc. C’est une planche en plastique avec des aimants colles dessus. Faire plus d’une minute de film la-dessus, ca tourne a la grosse blague!

Fun stuff,but don’t get too excited, this technology has been around for at least 40 years. We used to be able to buy small kits that allowed you to build various hovering items. But like an old joke, it comes back around and sounds new to the next generation.

Unlikely, you’d need an insainly powerful magnet for it to support a person. Also you’d need the ground you ride it on to be magnitised.
