Phil Whitehead a compilé dans une vidéo des scènes « d’acteurs en train de jouer des acteurs dans les films ». Actors Playing Actors Acting s’inspire d’un éditorial que le journaliste Nick James a écrit dans le magazine Sight and Sound (janvier 2015). Il prend comme exemple central (et parfait) Birdman et le jeu de Michael Keaton qui alterne entre son propre rôle d’acteur (brillant) et celui de son personnage (un acteur raté). Dans ce montage, on retrouve également Robin Williams dans Mrs Doubtfire, Dustin Hoffman dans Tootsie, Jean Dujardin dans The Artist, Laura Dern dans Inland Empire, Robert Downey Jr. dans Chaplin et Bill Murray dans Lost in Translation.
