Strobist Information: My partner, Keoula, is in the process of putting the final touches to her new range of evening ware and wanted some pictures shooting for a fashion festival she is entering. A few phone calls later and she had organized an entourage of people to make the shoot happen. The model is Elspeth, who is being made up by Karlie, the partner of Dennis the hairdresser. We also had Ly helping to feed and organise everyone and Annie, a friend of Keoula's, who was along to observing proceedings. One of the things Keoula wanted was a set of 'behind the seams' shots of the team getting everything ready. All the lights were already set up in the 'studio' (Keoula's office) so I just grabbed a spare Sunpak 383, set it to half power, attached a PW and pointed it up at the white ceiling. After balanced for the ambient light coming through the windows, I just started snapping away. This portrait of Elspeth was grabbed while Karlie was still in the middle of making her up. The difference in background colour on each side of her head is the wall on the left verses the darker corridor in the background.
