Trapped In Our Own Fairytale

"Inside the snow globe on my father's desk, there was a penguin wearing a red-and-white-striped scarf. When I was little my father would pull me into his lap and reach for the snow globe. He would turn it over, letting all the snow collect on the top, then quickly invert it. The two of us watched the snow fall gently around the penguin. The penguin was alone in there, I thought, and I worried for him. When I told my father this, he said, 'Don't worry Susie; he has a nice life. He's trapped in a perfect world."' - The Lovely Bones TRAPPED IN A PERFECT WORLD The final image in my series Behind The Scenes, Fairytales. I didn't want to do a wellknown fairytale for today's image - I wanted to do something a little different instead. The issues I covered in the series apply to some people, but not everyone. So this image is for anyone who has ever felt kinda out of place in the world, anyone who wonders if maybe they'd belong in someone else's fairytale, anyone searching for their prince charming, anyone who hates happy endings altogether, anyone who is living their dreams. This isn't my house. It was shit scary on that ledge, I haved posted some outtakes on mine and Aaron's blog - the majority are of me with the most petrified expressions on my face! Someone lives there and I kept banging my head on the window, but luckily no heads poked round the curtains :P Happy fairytales, everyone! 142/365
