Kahiko hi'ohi'ona 'aina
A view seen daily by settlers to Hawaii. Archeological evidence of footprints found near by suggest dwarfs from the Marquesas Islands where the first inhabitants. A thriving native forest once provided for thousands of settlers, but gave way to over use. Grasslands now cover the slopes of the volcano to the coast. This resource-poor land is inhabited by a few cows and even fewer Hawaiians.
