Recently we had the pleasure to design the cover for a very difficult but also very interesting book. The Fall of Troy by Peter Ackroyd is based on the story of the great archeologist Heinrich Schliemann. The author has created a poetic mix of history, romance and mystery. So it was difficult to find the iconic symbols to discribe the real spirit of the book. Some technical info: The illustration for the cover is made with Adobe Photoshop. The layout is made in Adobe InDesign. The fonts PF Temple Archaic and PF Highway Gothic has been used for the titles and other texts. Both typefaces designed by Panos Vasileiou for Parachute Type & Image Corporation The title of the book is made with the PANTONE Metallic ink and it cannot be represented correctly in RGB here.
