European channel Canal+ via Capa drama, Zodiack and Incendo commissioned Mémoire Liquide and Christian Langlois (director at Les Enfants) to make the main titles of the new series Versailles, launched a few days ago on the channel. This TV show is a biopic dedicated to the life of the most famous French king, Louis XIV, and the rising of Versailles as a cultural power and an international politics. These main titles is a sort of ode to the works of the Roi Soleil : from the modest pavilion for hunting to the building of the most prestigious castle in Europe. Christian Langlois wanted to illustrate the cheeky spirit, the breaks and the cracks of the Court, by the introduction of a modern graphics that cuts off the classical imagery of monarchy, appealing here a breach and the birth of a new image for aristocracy and power.
