Since 2003 and the retreat of Concorde, supersonic aircraft seemed to be an evolution belonging to the past. But today, NASA, always looking for new things and technological revolution, plans to bring back this type of airplanes, creating a plane totally quiet, fast, safe and clean. The Quiet Supersonic Technology (QueSST) elaboration will be set at the NASA’s Langley Research Center de la NASA, in Virginia, with the help of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. It’s the first ongoing project of long series of X-planes, for the NASA’s New Aviation Horizons initiative, introduced by the agency in the Fiscal Year 2017 budget.
