Nicole Stjernsward, a graduate of Imperial College London, created “Kaiku”, a system that turns fruits and vegetables into natural pigments.

EBy boiling them, the machine turns skins and peels into powder paint. The goal of the system is to propose a natural alternative to the use of artificial pigments, toxic most of the time. Avocados, beets or lemons can then be turned into raw materials for painting, inks and dyes !

By transitioning to natural based pigments, it will be easier for us to recycle products and make them more circular ” explains Nicole Stjernsward.
