The trio We Make Carpets returns with its impressive installations : At first glance, we could think that it’s a very colorful giant carpet. But when you get closer, it’s actually clothes pegs, shuttlecocks, sponges or any other everyday thing.
The trio begins in 2009 with his first work of pine cones and conifer needles during the Dutch Design Week. They decide to continue collaborating, and make six more carpets. Functioning all three intuitively, they are not following a strict construction, and build their works according to their desires, always starting from the center. The artists devote a great deal of time and energy to make their work, and that’s probably why they are all so close together. Everyday objects take on an entirely different aspect, showing by the way their potential and their value.
