On the forecourt of La Défense, an original structure was born. Original because it stands out from the surrounding architecture. This ephemeral wooden pavilion was inspired by the Amerindian malocas. Designed by Simon Velelez, it hosts the exhibition Aqua Mater, by the Franco-Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado. “True ode to the fragility of water, the pavilion in Guadua of Amazonia offers a unique natural setting to the photographs of Sebastião Salgado reminding us how subtle the balance of nature remains“, say the organizers of the event. In addition to the photographs of the photographer, Aqua Mater offers a “sensory and spiritual” experience. The exhibit’s experience includes dimmed lights, music, and sound by François Bernard Mâche and tropical mist.
