On October 11, the Picto Fashion Photography Award ceremony took place at the Palais Galliera, Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris, after the deliberations of a jury chaired by fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier.
In addition to the exhibition produced by PICTO, the poster campaign offered by JCDecaux, the winner of the Picto Prize for Fashion Photography received a Leica camera. The winner is Natalia Evelyn Bencicova, a 28-year-old Slovakian visual artist. Her practice combines her interest in contemporary culture and academic research, creating a unique aesthetic space in which the conceptual meets the visual.
Similarly, the winner of the 2nd prize, the le19M endowment for Métiers d’Art photography, will collaborate with one of the eleven Maisons gathered in the new le19M site, conceived and designed by CHANEL and dedicated to Métiers d’Art de la Mode. The artist is Laurent Poleo-Garnier. The artist lives and works in Berlin, where he explores different modes of expression such as video, dance, and photographic portraiture, which is his favorite subject.
Finally, Paolo Roversi was awarded the Filippo Roversi prize, which recognizes the originality of a photographer’s technical skills. Olivia Malena Vidal won the award. Her artistic approach combines video, collage, photography, writing, and painting in research where dream and reality intermingle, accomplices of a perpetual quest for memory.
