In the Films.Dance project choreographer Jacob Jonas celebrates dance as an act of freedom and communion through 15 films posted on Instagram. An idea that is a reaction to pandemic and confinement.
The short films mix image, dance, fashion and music, with the participation of more than 150 artists from 25 countries including more or less known names such as Sara Mearns star dancer of the New York City Ballet, Grammy Award-winning musician Antonio Sanchez, superstar choreographer Desmond Richardson or successful directors like Henry Joost or Ariel Schulman.

“At the beginning of the pandemic I produced a few small films and realized that you could do it while strictly adhering to health guidelines. That’s what motivated me to produce this series in addition to questioning how to bring people together, how to make dance more visible, and how to take advantage of this troubled time to carry out original projects and not let it get you down? “ explains Jacob Jonas. Discover here a glimpse of this ambitious initiative that will span over a year.
