Emily French is in a “torrid three-way love affair with words and art,” as she says in a statement. The designer, artist, and writer based in Charleston, SC, creates sweet, dreamlike pieces where, sometimes, her words meet her lines. This is the case in “Goodness, child,” where words take the place of a child’s hair. The artist also created series with hand-made collages using torn strips of paper that were first painted with acrylic gouache. In “Torn Landcapes”, one can see sweet and abstract landscapes with a beautiful harmony of colors. Peaceful pieces that leave the viewer dreaming.
