After 21 race stages for 176 riders from 22 teams – over a distance of 3,483 km – the Tour de France ended this year in Paris. Here are some of our favorite images from the last three weeks.

This year’s edition of the Tour de France was scheduled to start in Nice on June 27th, but in April, as the Coronavirus pandemic swept across Europe, President Emmanuel Macron announced that all public hosting events around the world would be banned until mid-July to combat the spread of Covid-19. It was feared that this would not happen at all. Eventually, the race was delayed for the first time in peacetime since its inception in 1903, after the event organizers, in agreement with the International Cycling Union (UCI), decided to postpone the race, with Nice hosting the Grand Départ on August 29.

In these photos by Getty Images, we see the Tour again, which this year had a special flavor: between masks and security measures, the event is a reflection of the absurd times that are running.
