It is a post-apocalyptic America that Philippe Vitry unveils in his series “The Lonely State”. While traveling in the United States, the French photographer and entrepreneur focused on the deserted and abandoned landscapes of California, at the very opposite of the American dream. His pictures depict the face of a country sweating loneliness, under a warm and dry sky. The only remnants of a bygone era : vintage cars now abandoned.
