Franz Sussbauer is a photographer based in Munich. Lovers of exteriors, nature and architecture, he presents the “Art in Public Space” photo series of Le Havre beach and the famous cabins found there.

Graphic designer Karel Martens worked on a project for the city’s 500th anniversary and offered to give the cabins a colorful expression.
Thus, strips of 10 different colors and 6 different widths were painted on the visible sides of the cabins.
The artist says he sees this as “a kind of choreography, a composition of a large panorama with all the cabins, unity through diversity”.

For the photographer, the concept of the motif is very important in his work.
Through his photographic training and his studies of art and architecture, he favors modern photography, especially works that leave room for the imagination, but he likes to focus on a subject.

He made a series of pictures of Le Havre beach and tried to give his interpretation of the place.
By taking as a subject these cabins with colored bands, he supports the project of the graphic designer Karel Martens by proposing photos in pastel atmospheres and offers this universe out of a dream.
