The Underwater Photographer of the Year Contest is an annual festival. For this new edition, the winners have been announced. This year, it is the French underwater and wildlife photographer Greg Lecoeur, who won the title. The picture that lead him to the first place on the podium is “Frozen Mobile Home”, where you can see crabeater seals swimming around an iceberg; and which was taken in Antarctica. 5500 photographs were submitted, coming from 70 countries around the world and divided into different categories such as: Macro, Marine Conservation, Wide Angle, Behaviour, Black and White etc.

Six other photographers had awards: Anita Kainrath, from Austria in the category “Up and Coming Underwater Photographer of the Year”, but also Nicholas More, from the UK, in the “British Underwater Photographer of the Year” category. We can also find Pasquale Vassallo, from Italy, in the Marine Conservation category. Nur Tucker, from the Uk, was rewarded in the “Most promising British Underwater Photographer of the Year” category. Pietro Formis, also from Italia, won an award in the “Book of the Year” category.
