Passing the door of the “Interstellar” restaurant in Mexico City, you enter another dimension. Entirely papered in black, the place is illuminated by more than 250,000 LED lights that cover undulating walls and ceiling. The universe of the Milky Way is enhanced by hanging open books, as if floating in weightlessness, and by mirror tables that reflect the multitude of lights.

Conducted jointly by the agency Almazán y Arquitectos Asociados, Concepto Taller de Arquitectura studio and Pin Studio, the project is directly inspired by the “Interstellar” movie, released in 2014. The restaurant, only intended to be ephemeral, has been created for the 2019 edition of the Millesime México gastronomic event, which took place in November.
