In his original creations, Filip Hodas, a  Czech Republic-based artist, shares with his public a kind of odd future … And for good reason: he presents icons of pop culture (cartoon characters, video games or popular consumerist products) in an unusual way. His Pop Culture Dystopia series takes place in an era that looks almost post-apocalyptic. In this one, sit several of these icones which seem out-of-date: an imposing, dilapidated Mickey head, tagged is resting on the edge of a river for example. The skull of SpongeBob is exhibited in a museum under the name of “Spongia Bobæ”. An idea of what future historians and archaeologists could feel by studying and discovering these figures which will, at this time, be part of the past.
