It is a reality with sublimated, fantasized colours we cross in Al Mefer‘s recent photo project. We can discover many shadows, a sense of serenity and a few protagonists whose identity are not fully revealed. Indeed, it seems that the viewer is witnessing scenes where the world is moving slower. The photographer manages to immerse us in this unique atmosphere offered by the end of a summer day.

He confirms this observation. «The series is called Minimal Afternoons as it aims to convey the atmosphere of stillness, quietness, warmth and simplicity that this time of the day evokes. The afternoon is a moment in which time seems to slow down with its distinctive light. The use of warm colours, tranquil scenery and environmental portraits create a series where things are meant to be contemplated», he reveals.
