Currently under construction, Sainte-Catherine Street in downtown Montreal suffers many negative impacts. Local firm KANVA has imagined the IMAGO concept. Its aesthetic is futuristic and pure, and the technical approach was inspired by biomimicry. Since Québec’s metropolis is in constant motion, the project aims to reduce nuisances and develop a new way of taking ownership of its evolution and innovation. IMAGO’s bold design celebrates the creativity of the city, even though its main street is under construction.
The poetic installation has already won several awards and could move to other neighbourhoods of Montreal.
«It is a matter of transforming these major infrastructure works through design into a key moment that will make Montreal shine while protecting the unique value of this artery», says the firm.
