In his series Kukeri, artist Miroslav Dimitrov recreates the elaborative costumes and masks worn by men and women during a traditional ritual celebrated in South and Central European countries including Romania, Bulgaria, Croatie or Slovenia. These masked characters dance and make noise to ward away evil spirits, a custom believed to provide good harvest, health and happiness to villages. Creating short animations and character studies of Kukeri, Dimitrov shows off his immense talent for motion graphics and 3D illustration.
