The Portuguese artist Vanessa Barragao, whom we had already talked about here, is a textile artist. If her « Seabeds » series had already seduced, it is today her work « Botanical tapestry » that we will now discover. This tapestry was created to celebrate the partnership between London Heathrow Airport and the Royal Botanic Gardens of Kew. A gigantic work of no less than 520 hours, which required 8 kilos of jute and cotton, as well as 42 recycled wool. « This art piece represents the world map. There are visible all the colors present in our continents and oceans and some threatened species like the coral reefs and some plants around the world », she explains.
