Giselle Quinto Giselle Quinto is a Brazilian artist based in Amsterdam. Her work consists to revisit the image of the woman through the embroidery. Her drawings mostly represent tattooed women in a bucolic setting. The artist emphasises the diversity of bodies, the idea of freedom, equality through these touching portraits.

The women represented are often alone, their eyes closed solemnly. Black lines allow the artist to play with a wide variety of hairstyles while discreet touches of color catch the eye on details. According to her, her work “brings an anarchic view to classic embroidery, revisiting old traditions and transforming it in protest for equality, where all have the right to be and live whoever they are.”

A benevolent creative approach that allows to modernize more classical artistic techniques… Splendid !
