Featuring the mobile phones from the 1990s, the series Information Super Highway by photographer Ryan Duffin is an ode to a time when smartphones still played second place to real life. Obtaining a bunch of dated phones from eBay, Duffin’s images look like advertising campaigns from the past. With bulky bodies, tiny screens and embossed keypads, these old phones take us back to a time when all we used them for was making a phone call or sending a quick text. In today’s hyper-connected society, the project urges us to look away from our screens from time to time, and enjoy what physically lies before us.
