New artworks have been installed in the Coachella Valley in California for the second edition of the biennial art festival Desert X. The valley, located east of Los Angeles, is particularly known for the eponym music festival. The installations and sculptures presented share a common feature of their bright colors or their unusual appearance, contrasting with the surrounding landscape in the middle of nowhere. Some works, by their colors, thus allow to create optical illusions without precedent. Artists such as John Gerrard, Pia Camil or Sterling Ruby will present their works until April 21, 2019.
