« Inspired by nature », that’s how Kevin Krautgartner, a german photographer describes his unique pictures taken all over the world. With this series called « The Long Journey », the artist, specialized in landscapes and architecture wanted to « show something new », he says. « The most fascinating part for me is this new dimension that comes along with aerial photography. Even if drone photography is becoming kind of common nowadays, using it offers so many possibilities. And capturing surreal landscapes of our planet from this atypical angle has mesmerized me from the first minute », he adds.

« The idea came spontaneously on a photo trip in Iceland. I worked there on an aerial series dedicated to some amazing glacier rivers from above. I had to drive through some very original places to get to these unique glaciers. I also had to stop over and over with my car and flew up with my drone to see how far the next lake would be. After I saw my single car in the middle of these huge and abstract natural landscapes on the display from my drone controller, I knew that I had to process these moments into a new series ». He continued taking them during his various photo project trips over Europe, from the northern Norway to the south of Spain.
