That may be the most economical, ecological and practical solution for building in the future. Using a fabric conceived on computer and then knitted out of a 3D knit, Zaha Hadid Architects and ETH Zurich have made it possible to build a concrete structure named KnitCandela in Mexico City. Once the four parts of the toil knitted, they have been put on a wood structure and then assembled. The visible side of it wears a decorative pattern, while the inner face is more technical : it is going to support a layer of concrete, which will hold the whole geometric structure of KnitCandela. That is an interesting process to watch over.
