Patricia Urquiola is a basque designer who combined for the new line of cookware brand Alessi an equipment set at the hub of multicultural influences, from Japan to antiquity, and also takes a bit of her own cultural and visual origins. This sery has been called Edo, which means “eat” in ancient latin, but is also the ancient name of Tokyo. These choices, crossing cultures in colorful and elegant illustrations, are an invitation for both the guests and the cooks to get back to basic pleasures of the art of cooking, through the refinement and the peace of Japanese gardens. The design of the pots and saucepans are fluid, appealing a renewed spirit in cooking.
