After capturing the cats who dominate some of Hong Kong’s market and shops, photographer Marcel Heijnen focuses his attention on dogs in his endearing photo series titled Hong Kong Garage Dogs. With dogs being less visible than cats in the city, Heijnen’s chance encounter with a dog guarding a car garage jumpstarted the series. From the industrial areas of Shau Kei Wan to Tai Kok Tsui, Heijnen got acquainted with the canine companions of the city’s repair shop keepers. Though less laid-back than their feline counterparts, the dogs stood still long enough for Heijnen to snap their portraits in their habitat. Now that’s a good dog!
