The city life seems to be the main subject of Remi Besse’s works, a French artist who describes himself as an «image maker». His collages combine photography, ink and painting in organized chaos and are assembled numerically or by hand. His vibrant creations bring out faces and concreted places to make us visit the city, its urbanism and its protagonists with flagrant poetry.

«These graphic patchworks show various silhouettes mixed with the grain of the asphalt, the spray paint and the tearing of the paper. A straight and refined line comes to marry the atmospheres of this restless Paris, he says. Sometimes hand-made collages from prints. Sometimes associated elements digitally to create a contrast. In any case, the idea is to create urban compositions from portraits or moments of life.» Discover more of his collages on Instagram.
