For the German exhibition called “Odyssea”, which gathers installations and artworks around the themes of journey and adventure, the design studio Daewha Kang created a very specific object.

Made of many pieces of wood, the artwork has been sealed in a concrete block that floats in the middle of Mohnesee, north Rhenania-Westphalen. The London studio answered the offer of the art association and museum Kunstverein Arnsberg.

Its shape surely evokes the spine of some mysterious sea-monster, or the thin fins of an aquatic fish, when the use of wood and the way they are put together clearly are a reference to the hull of a ship.
