This year’s Pinknic festival edition hosted an astonishing guest : Governor’s Island, New York City, welcomed for the third edition of the risingly famous festival the bombastic artwork of the French designer Cyril Lancelin. His “Flamingo Torus” is a combination of 16 inflatable pink flamingos in a Duchamp-meets-Warhol style, between ready-made and pop art.

As an architect –and a malicious joker, Cyril Lancelin always pays attention to what kind of energy an artwork provides to its environment, as the doughnut holes of the flamingos are to be understood as windows opened to the world, creating a perfect place to take a picture for your Instagram.
