Narcissus Garden is Yayoi Kusama‘s last artwork, based on the Rockaway peninsula in the Queens, a place where people from the city use to go for having a break from the turbulent urban life. Untile september 3rd, visitors could admire this new installation into the ancient trains’ hangar of Fort Tilden. It is a group of 1500 steel spheres producing mirrored effects. Therefore, those who walk among the spheres can admire their own reflection everywhere in the hangar but also the destruction of the surrounding building, caused by a hurricane. A subtle metaphore evoking Narcissus story and the dangers of vanity.
