In Collaboration with the digital fabrication research team of ROB Technologies, Kimmel Eshkolot Architects built a memorial paying tribute to Israelian’s fallen soldiers. In the center of the memorial, the Architects designed an undulating brick wall. 23,000 bricks in total, each one of them being engraved with a soldier’s name and date of death. A light system automatically illuminates the bricks on the anniversary of the soldier’s death. Designed with careful attention to details, the memorial allows visitors to meditate under the commemorative wall and to walk through a 250-meters spiral corridor to explore the vortex-shaped brick sculpture.
