The series The Woman Who Never Existed by Norwegian photographer Anja Niemi was inspired by a quote from Italian actress Eleonora Duse: “Away from the stage I do not exist”. Niemi’s work explores the persona of performers who step away from the spotlight, capturing the fragile and emotional moment where acting ends and reality begins.
