Between fragility and grunge, spontaneity and sophistication, the photographer Judy Linn shot the graceful period when she lived with her friends in Brooklyn, during the seventies. Among them, the young singer Patti Smith with her notorious lover, the photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. The series perfectly illustrates the main inspirations of these emerging artists, such as the French New Wave, Bob Dylan, the bohemian life of this period, marked by new social revendications. All the images are available in a new edition of Smith’s book, ‘Just Kids’.
