Husband and wife Regis and Karhan, founders of the cruelty-free and vegan beauty brand Creative Soul, created the photographic series “Afro Art” in order to pay tribute to the beauty of Afro-American women. Decidedly Baroque (1600-1750) in its visual vocabulary, the photos show elegant women with stunning hairstyles. The objective is to free the Afro hairs and to reveal its natural beauty. “We feel that it is so important for kids of color to be able to see positive images that look like them in the media” said Kahran to My Modern Met.
