Audi talents is a well-known partner for creative people for ten years. Every year, artists are invited to present a creative and innovative project to a jury composed of professionals. The winner who will see its artwork selected will be support during one year by the Audi talents program to show his project to the public.

French sound designer Romain Benitez, imagines sound creations to accompany pictures. He worked for advertising, brands and events like Helixot et les Rendez-Vous du Carnet de Voyage.

This artist, music at his beginnings, has various inspirations. That is finally the desire to make music for pictures that makes him enterring in the electro music world.

“My first styles were reggae, funk and rock. At the end of my studies, I chose to make music for pictures and beginning to orient myself to electronic music”.

This magician of music tones has a contemporary vision of the music that make his credo in his work.

“For me the idea of music is having symbiosis between technic, emotion and intellectual. There are more than one level of reading and one listening is not enough to understand a song.”.

Romain Benitez was rewarded at the Audi talents in 2016, for the presentation of his project Infinite, A Space Odyssey, which the topic is the Universe. Through his price, his project has been produced by Audi talents to be revealed to the public.
A creation that started with a blank page, without picture that is a new aspect of his work. That is a new face of his work he explored by creating an entire work.
The artist worked with the director Stéphane Mondoloni, to create a four-hand generative creation. He took the “standards and the shape of a symphony with four mouvements. The idea was to mix in a homogene way the sound-design, orchestral and electro.”

The project will be shown during an exceptional concert on December 9th at the Paris Philharmonie, for the Week-End des Musiques à l’Image.

An artwork that is revealed with rhythm of music. An animated picture, generated and powered by the sound make this creation alive. A process that let a great part to improvisation. Every concert can have some visual surprises to offer a different and fascinating result. Amazingly technically orchestrated by the Bonjour Lab studio, the performance will show a complete immersion to the viewer, rocking him in an unknown and whimsical world where art and technology are one.

“From one concert to another, I can change instrument or playing in another way and showing to the audience a final result that won’t be the same.”

The creation was rapidly and naturally inspired by cinema, as Romain Benitez told us. For the visual aspect, we were inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanly Kubrick and Interstellar by Christopher Nolan. For the soundtrack we was inspire by the work of Hans Zimmer”. Visual inspirations that are in the all minds and we think about it when we talk about Space in movies.

An experimental, innovative and creative project, to discover at 7:00 PM at the Paris Philharmonie on December 9th.
