Japanese photographer Hisakata Hiroyuki proves that cats truly are the ninjas we believe them to be in his series Ninja Cats, which he has been shooting for the past year and a half. Armed with an Olympus M1 camera, Hisakata uses feather toys to get cats to jump and stretch, capturing their best ninja poses. “Cats have been expressed in arts, animation and illustrations in full dynamism,” says the photographer. “However, it’s difficult to capture them on photographs. I have learned techniques to shoot while playing with cats. I’m also thinking of making videos of them.” You can order his Ninja Cat books here and here.
