Francesco Bagnato is a self-taught Italian photographer based in Milan. Among his many sources of inspiration, reptiles and insects occupy a special place. When asked why he photographs these atypical models, he replies that beyond the purely aesthetic aspect, he seeks to change the public’s perception and show that these unloved animals are much more fascinating than they appear. In this series of untouched photos, he focuses on the family of beetles and the splendid metallic reflections of their shells.
