It is after his very first trip to India that photographer Ken Hermann felt the kinship with the country, its people, its culture and its photographic potential. Over the years, he developed an profound interest for humans, their stories and their relationship with their environment, traditions and modernity. Flower Men is a portrait project photographed at one of the biggest flower market in the world, the Malik Ghat Flower Market in Calcutta. Hermann was especially fascinated by those masculine and strong men whose dusty clothes would contrast with their splendid flowers and the care they would provide to them.
