In her work, Namsa Leuba explores how the African identity is perceived through the Western eyes. Her photography series are always carefully and theatrically put together with a focus on signs and symbols of her heritage that she reinterprets through fashion design. The photographic series Khoisan is an exploration of the Southern African tribe of the same name. By dressing up the models with skins and masks, she makes references to their traditional practices such as hunting.
