Climbing Mount Everest is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for some, but for others, it’s just a regular job. Photographer Steve Brown shines the spotlight on the Nepalese people who work behind the scenes to get aspiring climbers to the summit of Mount Everest in the series The Business of Everest.

During a 3-week trek, Brown captured the portraits of trekking guides, porters, Sherpas and icefall repairmen, framing them against snowcapped mountains and bright blue skies… a stirring personal project that pays tribute to the silent, hardworking forces behind every ascent.
