Taking inspiration from the work of British botanist Anna Atkins, Rachael Jablo creates splendid flower collages. For this series entitled “Where are you going, where have you been ?”, the artiste first made photograms of decomposed flowers. Rachael Jablo explores the interactions between the light and the flowers which creates shadows and reflections. She then cut the photogram and piece them back into impressive collages which give a new life and new shapes to the flowers. Through her work, Rachael Jablo questions the notions of creation and destruction as well as the concept of time itself.
