Kopeto unveils his new series taken in Brazil. In a night ambiance, dark but soft and sweet, the photographer bring us into a long summer night. We can almost feel the wild breeze and the charming decrepit architecture of sea cities. Daily life assumes a rude but poetic aspect. A vision of Brazil far from postal cards, far from colors and festivities, giving a new face to this country full of contrasts.

Kopeto talks about his work :

“I shot what I have seen. Details, moments, invisible things that cough my attention more than what is immediately viewable”

His fascination for sweet and intense lights comes from a kind of discretion and softness.

“The atmosphere could have been darker if I would have taken some more cliches of hidden characters. However, I preferred to keep my camera off in certain intimate situations. I used only natural lights, Rio’s lights are fabulous. Street lights, cars headlights or a lighter, all these elements constitutes Rio’s lights”
