On the occasion of the exhibition # LaMêmePassion organized by Société Générale during the European Days of Crafts, Fubiz presents one of the works that will be highlighted in the heart of the Bastille Design Center from March 31 to April 2nd . Nicely named “Flowering of a vocation”, this work unites the know-how of the Best Worker of France in Floral Art, Gil Boyard with the curiosity of a passionate, Gaëlle Pope.

The meeting between a Best Worker of France and a young apprentice

Gil Boyard is one of those people who have a surprising background. While he was studying biochemistry, he decided to change his path at the age of 26, and to embark on a completely new conversion to become a florist.

Formed by Jean-Michel Mertens (first French champion of the world of florists in 1979), Gil never stopped tweaking and working his know-how until becoming Best Worker of France in 2004.

On the occasion of the exhibition # laMêmePassion, Gil met Gaëlle. This 18-year-old girl, dreaming of becoming a florist, was selected by Société Générale  after expressing her passion for her future job on social networks. It was his tweet below that caught the attention:

This unusual social media device, realized with FRED & FARID Paris, allowed seven enthusiasts to create in twin with a Best Worker of France, the tweet that allowed them to be selected for this exhibition. Thus Gil Boyard had the opportunity to realize with Gaëlle Pope the construction of a plant wall of 2.5 x 3.8 meters.

It is all about technical and teamwork. The lettering is entirely done with cut flowers, hand-stitched. This work intermingles plants such as lisianthus, branch roses, craspedias and carnations. Between good humor and transmission of know-how, the realization of the work took place in an atmosphere as studious as warm.

“It’s a plant representation of the current virtual communication, the flowers come alive on a screen of greenery to write a tweet” explains Gil Boyard.

And it’s not over. During the 2.0 exhibition at the Bastille Design Center from 31 March to 2 April, visitors will discover the work “Flowering of a vocation”, both presented and animated by a projection on the screen of greenery which will react at the level sound. A staging that aims to make the exhibition not only artisanal, but also, interactive.
