Gemma Gené is an artist who comes from Barcelona but moved to New York during her studies in order to graduate with a Masters Degree in architectural design at the University of Columbia. She since created her own studio and partly dedicates her time to painting.

In some of her artworks, she brilliantly reproduces items wrapped in aluminium foil, like in still life art. Pineapples, lobsters, telephones, bags and cameras therefore appear on wooden plates for a deceptive illusion rendering.
