During 3.5 years, Japanese artist Manabu Ikeda worked 10 hours per day, painting his giant ink picture. This massive masterpiece is called Rebirth and it represents the birth of a tree from the sea. Looking closer, it is possible to see a myriad of details and fascinating secondary stories. The idea of “being born again” came from the artist’s perception of the catastrophes that occurred in Japan some years ago: the tsunami and Fukushima disaster. A powerful and delicate work, revealing the strength and the tenacity of the artist.
